Practice Time Academy is a team of highly qualified, Massachusetts-licensed educators dedicated to helping students build strong academic foundations and lasting confidence. Our teachers are professionally certified in Reading, Special Education, and English as a Second Language, and each holds a Master’s degree in Education.
With years of classroom experience, we have seen firsthand that today’s school day often does not allow enough time for students to fully practice and master essential skills. Large class sizes, demanding curricula, and diverse learning needs can limit opportunities for individualized support.
That is where Practice Time Academy steps in.

We provide intentional, focused practice in a supportive and engaging environment. Our sessions are hands-on, personalized, and designed to strengthen both academic skills and self-confidence.
When students are given the time to slow down, practice with purpose, and receive thoughtful guidance, they don’t just improve — they begin to enjoy learning again.
Current Sessions Offered
We currently offer practice sessions in:
Letter formation and handwriting development
Journal writing
Foundational money skills
Time-telling skills
Conversational skills to support social-emotional growth
Each session is carefully structured to support brain development, independence, and a deeper understanding of individual strengths.

About the Owner/Creator
Practice Time Academy was founded by Emily Shepardson, a certified public school teacher with a passion for helping children build confidence through practice. With a Master’s degree in Education and certifications in Special Education, English as a Second Language and systematic reading programs, she has spent years supporting students with diverse learning styles and needs.
Through her work in the classroom , she recognized that many children simply needed more time to practice foundational skills in a supportive, low pressure environment. Practice Time Academy was created to provide that space- where children can strengthen skills through engaging, hands on activities designed to build confidence and independence.
Sessions focus on practical, academic and life skills such as hand writing and letter formation, sentence structure and journal writing, telling time, money skills and conversational communication. Each activity is thoughtfully designed to meet children where they are and help them grow at their own pace.
Practice Time Academy believes that confidence grows through practice, patience and self esteem- every child deserves the time and support to succeed.
